Shri M. Lakshmanan spent a career with Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti — as a mathematics teacher, as Principal, and as Assistant Commissioner. He always held one thought: children of this region should receive the same quality of CBSE education he had seen in those schools, without having to leave their families for a city campus.
Mrs S. Porkodi brought thirty years of CBSE classrooms — including Navodaya Vidyalayas — and a coaching hall that sent students to AIIMS and leading medical colleges. Together they raised School of Scholars in Alavakottai: a calm campus, a serious timetable, and rooms meant for learning.

School of Scholars sits on Manaikoli Amman Road, Alavakottai, in Sivaganga District. The campus is 2.17 acres — trees, open ground, and air that is not a city rush. Families who visit often remark on the peace before they remark on the buildings.
Around forty spacious classrooms hold the day. Smart rooms, a computer lab, a library, science spaces, and playground games sit on the same ground. The rooms are built for teaching; the campus is built for growing up.
